Not Just A Market Bag has been designed to be one of those bags that folds or scrunches up small, so you can keep it on you at all times. It will hold whatever you wish to put in it - the Mary Poppins bag of market bags if you will, due to its incredibly stretchy, yet strong, mesh section.

I have found mine such an easy shape both to use and to wear. It’s perfect as a shopping bag, a beach bag (it doesn’t collect too much sand!) or a swimming bag - you name it. Though I really think this is THE bag to take to a yarn or fibre festival - it will hold SO much!

If you are not used to working with linen I would suggest that you hand ball it. This will allow the fibres to soften slightly in your hands. It will also soften more as you are working with it, but the real transformation comes with washing and use - try it and you’ll see exactly what I mean!

I knit the entire bag on a 50cm cable needle. However, you could also use a 40cm needle or a larger 80cm/100cm needle for magic loop - the choice is yours.

Recommended yarn is 100% linen, however you could easily substitute this for a cotton, or other strong plant fibre.
