Not your Granny's top!
Once again, if you can make a granny square, you can make this top! I used size 5 acrylic thread and a G hook. While the hook size seems rather large it works wonderfully with this slinky thread. If you cringe at the thought of acrylic thread try to open your mind a bit! This is a fabulous, light thread with a wonderful sheen that works up with a great drape to it. Think it like the “simply soft” of crochet thread. This top is worked from the top down starting with ribbing that you sew the ends together into a circle. Then you work into the row ends for the skirt. Its an easy no-nonsense pattern that you can pick up really easily. Crochet doesn’t have to be complicated to be beautiful! If you choose a different yarn, be sure to check gauge and make sure it has a good drape to the fabric or else it may be bulky.
