This lovely, unique doily is another project in my “Heartstrings” series of patterns that uses my Breakaway Crochet techniques to work very small motifs continuously and joined-as-you-go. A great project to create a one-of-a-kind item whilst expanding your crochet skills in general.
It would add a pretty touch to your Valentine’s Day serving trays, or just a year-round touch of shabby vintage to any tabletop or dresser.
It is worked from the center out, and uses a small amount (around 20 grams) of size 10 crochet thread. Other lace weight cotton yarn/thread would work well too.
A video tutorial is also available on YouTube to help explain the techniques.
