Much like the art of the Art Nouveau movement, Nouverie features sinuous lines, asymmetrical shaping, and elegant embellishments. Art Nouveau was considered a metaphor for freedom from traditional artistic styles and it featured women doing things they could normally only dream about in their imagination, like riding a bike. They were portrayed in their happy thoughts, or reverie, instead of being so serious and buttoned up.

This cowl, featuring new and unusual techniques, is knit from the top down with the circumference increasing and flowing into a stylish ruffle. Curvy lines are created by mini cables and then accented by small bobbles to add a little glitz as the Art Nouveau movement did so well. This pattern would look great in solid, tonal, or lightly speckled yarn.

The pattern has been tech edited, has 7 video tutorial links, a picture tutorial, written instructions, charted instructions, and modification guidance. Plus those bobbles and that ruffle are optional. Skill level: Adventurous beginner to intermediate.
