This is a book inspired lace knit. The idea is a book with pages open and lacy vines, leaves, and flowers coming out of the pages. It is worked flat from the neck (spine) outwards.

The pattern is written for a knitter new to lace. It has simplified stitch types and purl rows on the wrong side to make this an easier knit. It also incorporrates an icord edge as a skill builder.

The pattern includes an additional chart to expand the size if desired. The gauge is for fingering weight yarn to achieve a 48 inch wide by 24 inch tall shawl (OR worked with additional chart 56 in by 28 in).

This can also be made with other yarns: If made with Knitpicks aloft mohair and the expanded chart it requires 41 grams (2 skeins) and needles were sized up to US size 6 (4mm).
