What do kids need? Soft, warm mittens in fun colours and patterns!

What do parents need? Mittens that can be tossed into the washing machine and come out the same size! Bonus points if they can’t end up on the wrong hand and have a cuff that fits over thick winter sleeves.

Well, heres my take on those mittens. A great many slipped stitches make the garment very elastic and the two-colour pattern easy to make. Use machine washable yarn to save on frustration later.

For ages 3-4 years, or thereabouts.

Count on 1 skein of the flower pattern yarn, and half a skein each of the background and cuff yarns. That ought to leave enough yarn to make a third mitten, should the need arise.
