Nowel is the middle English word for Christmas, and the cables wrapping around the tree make me think of old-fashioned cozy Christmases.

This Christmas tree skirt for a pencil tree (skinny tree) is fast to knit, taking between 8 and 10 hours to make.

FINISHED SIZE
Diameter: 61 cm / 24 inches
Width of knitting: 23 cm / 9 inches
Note: for a full sized tree skirt see the Noel Tree Skirt

YARN
I used Lion Brand Thick & Quick Bonus Bundles, requiring just over 1 bonus bundle http://shrsl.com/2m6mx
If using the regular sized balls of this yarn (whether Wool-ease or the 100% acryclic version), you would require 3 balls: http://shrsl.com/2m6n4

NEEDLES
Circular or straight needles could be used to knit this Christmas tree skirt.

BUTTONS
The Nowel Christmas Tree Skirt can be made with buttons or toggles or not. The buttonholes can easily be eliminated.
