The Noyac Bay Toque is all about texture that creates warmth. It’s worked in the round, in seed stitch bordered by interwoven knits and purls. The decreases swirl to the top, and there’s even a bit of length to give the hat a comfortable slouch. Knit at a gauge that creates a sturdy fabric, it can stand up to the strong winds coming off the bay at Noyac, near Sag Harbor, New York.

The pattern is sized for average adults, and the instructions are both written and charted. While it may look complex, the easy knitting rhythm is comfortable, just like the hat. Pair it with the Noyac Bay Cowl, and you’ll be ready to stand on the shore of Noyac Bay and look out over North Haven to Shelter Island.

Materials: Circular needles, US 4 & US 6; set of US 6 double pointed needles.

Yarn: The Noyac Bay Toque uses less than one 155-yard skein of Clara Yarn Cormo 1.0.

Clara Yarn Cormo 1.0 is the embodiment of a good worsted weight wool yarn. It’s plump, robust, and ever so soft. Its four plies take on texture with exuberance, and once washed and blocked, you’ll see why Clara chose Cormo for the debut yarn in her collection.
