ぬくもり- Nukumori means warmth in Japanese, physically and emotionally. This cardigan is going to give you both. It will be your go to comfort piece that’s always on the back of the kitchen chair ready to be grabbed for a run to the corner store or when you’re ready to call it a day and curl up on the sofa with your favourite book. We all deserve to have that one garment that embodies comfort, relaxation and that is as familiar to us like a second skin.

The boxy shape and big shawl collar feel like a hug from a good friend and wrap you up. The sleeves give you comfortable room for your elbows to move freely without stretching out your fabric.

The design will be worked from the bottom up, flat in one piece to the armholes. Then the fronts and back are divided and worked flat up to the shoulder. Front and back stitches are going to be knit together to join the shoulder seam. Stitches for the sleeves will be picked up and worked in the round from the top down. Finally stitches for the button band will be picked up and knit in pattern. The shawl collar is created with short rows.

The pattern includes:

  • written instructions and charts
  • video tutorials for Brioche basics (stitches, increases & decreases) and pattern stitches
  • tracker for stitch counts after each section
  • tips for working Brioche, reading your fabric
