Originally the pattern was published in Volokno magazine. It’s newest magazine Russian magazine.

These socks are knitted top down with a variation of the Gerdina Crouford-Strong heel and a gusset construction (without picking up sts) and a wedge shaped toe. The pattern is written for the magic loop method.

MATERIALS

  • Original yarn: Lana Grossa Meilenweit Tweed (80% wool, 20% polyamide, 460 yds / 420 m – 100 g).
  • Yardage: 438 – 460 yds (400 – 420 m) in 3.5 oz (100 g);
  • Needles: US 1 / 2.5 mm 32” / 80 cm circular needles, or other size to obtain gauge.
  • Notions: tape measure, tapestry, needle, cable needle (optional), sock blockers (optional).
