Nuotta is named after a small island called ‘Nuottasaari’, next to the protected outdoor green area Uutela in eastern Helsinki.

The scarf is a little triangular shaped accessorie which is knitted flat with textured pattern, colourwork pillar stripes and i-cord on the edges. The scarf is knitted from the tip with a set of increases and after reaching the middle there will be a set of decreases to the end tip. The textured pattern has cables portraying as waves in the sea & boat robes and the colourwork pillar stripes as the classic sailor’s stripes.

The pattern is part of A Verb For Keeping Warm’s Pro-Verbial Yarn / Shawl Club 2024!
