Oak Leaves and Mum Garlands
TWO PATTERNS FOR ONE LOW PRICE!
I love designing and making garlands! You can do so many things with them. Hang one on a door or wall, use as a table runner, tie back a curtain, drape one along the top of a kitchen or bathroom curtain, or even wear as a scarf!
Mum Hanging Garland:
This one is a super simple mum with an attached i-cord (for hanging). Leaves are attached to the i-cord by tying a knot over the leaf stems.
You knit this in 3 simple steps using 3 colors. Knit the mum, make the leaves, then make the i-cord. Tie it altogether and hang!
Skill level: advanced beginner or better.
Oak Leaves Garland:
So many uses for this Oak Leaf Garland….table runner, curtain tie- back, draped across top for shower curtain rod or your window curtain rod. You could also wear it as a scarf!
Knit up in autumn colors of burgundy, pumpkin and forest green or bark brown would be stunning! Traditional Christmas colors would be fun. Pretty spring colors in pink, yellow and grass green would be lovely too. All one, neutral color like cream or gray for those minimalist lovers out there. Endless possibilities.
Such a simple, 3 step pattern for the adventurous beginner knitter or better. A 3-st i-cord in Purple, a knit in one-piece Mint leaf base and some Misty Green oak leaves….. Tie the i-cord over the leaf base and oak leaf and you’re done.
