A multicolor scarf with swirls at the ends for added interest. It can be knit with two yarns stranded together (stainless-steel silk with silk-mohair). Color changes are made only with the silk-mohair. The stainless steel/silk adds an interesting drape and texture to the scarf.

Alternately, you can use a single strand of a fingering or DK weight slow color changing yarn, such as Schoppel Wolle Crazy Zauberball, Color Changing Cotton by Wolle, Kauni Wool 8/2 Effektgarn, or Noro Silk Garden Sock -- all of which will also be effective with the swirl pattern. Yardage will vary depending on needle size yarn weight, and gauge. Approximately 600-700 yds should be sufficient. If you are double stranding two yarns, you will need a total of 600-700 yds of each.

You can change the overall length of the scarf by changing the number of stitches in the center section, between markers 12 and 13. Any changes will affect the yardage.
