This lace colorwork pattern uses loop increases. Comparing to stacked increases, it’s worked quite easy, and despite the large number of stitches added, does not create any tension on your needles.
While the technique itself is easy, the pattern is quite challenging and requires your full attention, especially in some rows. It is still not nearly as difficult as Poison Oak, though ;)).
If you want to see other pattern with loop increases, you may find Flowerloops interesting.
Materials:

• fingering-weight yarn, sockyarn is OK, but pure not superwash wool is better. For 18-20cm wide X 150 cm long scarf, you will need about 600 m, or 150g of yarn total.
• circular needles with sharp tips, 2.5 or 3mm. You may use larger needles for CO edge, which must be stretchy. While this pattern falls in the lace category, the fabric is somewhat dense and not really lacy, at least with suggested yarn/needle combination. I think with larger needles / thinner yarn you can actually knit it into a lace.
