Oaken
Oaken is a stylish fall accessory that will transition well into colder weather. Pair it with an open blazer, a denim jacket, or bundle it into the collar of your warmest winter coat. Oaken is inspired by the trucks of oak trees; more specifically, those of the beautiful Garry Oak meadows found in my hometown of Victoria, British Columbia.
Ribbing and simple cables are the foundation of this piece. There are also two types of decreases used that are explained in the pattern. Confident beginners looking for a bit of a challenge should have no trouble tackling this pattern, while intermediate knitters can enjoy a relaxing and quick project!
I used a DK weight yarn, but some worsted weight yarns will knit to the pattern gauge as well. A yarn that has a nice drape to it will work best for this cowl.
