Fantastical acorn granny squares scattered amid traditional grannies make for the perfect autumn blanket. The acorn motif—achieved with popcorns, post stitches, and picots—is repeated in the edging. Crocheted in five shades of bulky yarn, this project will go faster than you think.

Yarn Paintbox Yarns Simply Chunky (distributed by LoveCrafts) (100% acrylic; 149 yd 136 m / 3½ oz 100 g): #307 vanilla cream (MC) 10 balls; #310 coffee bean (A), #323 mustard yellow (B), and #326 slate green (C), 3 balls each; #328 lime green (D), 2 balls.
Hook Size H/9 (5.5mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Yarn needle.
Gauge 13 sc = 4”; granny motif = 7¼“ square, blocked; acorn motif = 7¼” square, blocked.
