Note: I will be releasing the matching hat within the first week of March 2014, which will include sizes from baby through adult. I will also be releasing an adult version of this cowl within March 2014. Thank you to those who have shown interest!

Oakseed is so named due to the acorn-like appearance of the textured stitch. This stitch has all the beautiful qualities provided by crocheting, but is accomplished with knitting. The garment looks equally gorgeous in solid and semi-solid colorways.

Somewhere between a cowl and gaiter, Oakseed is a close-fitting neckwarmer that works perfectly under a coat and is especially helpful with a v-neck/peacoat style jacket as it covers the exposed areas without adding bulk. While parts of the pattern appear daunting, everyone can knit this cowl by following the detailed instructions.

Size: one size to fit ages 2-8

Finished Measurements: Neck circumference – 14”; circumference across bottom – 12.5”; length at center point – 7.5”.

Gauge: due to the broad sizing and multiple stitch patterns, measuring gauge is neither terribly accurate nor important. That having been said, you should use a yarn that gives you a gauge of 18 sts. over 4” in stockinette stitch on the US7 needles.
