Oatmeal the Snowman
“What will we call him?”
“Yeah, shall we call him Harold?” “Or Bruce?” “Or Christopher Columbus?”
“How about Oatmeal?” ALL: “Oatmeal!?”
-Frosty the Snowman, 1969
Oatmeal the Snowman is a friendly winter companion, and would look amazing sitting on just about any mantle or kid’s bed. His body is worked in Cascade Lana Grande, making him a big, quick project. Since the yarn is so thick and the cable pattern is so simple, it’s a good project for cabling without a cable needle. His arms and nose are knitted in worsted weight yarn. He has classic button eyes and you can put pipe cleaners in his arms to make them poseable. If you are making Oatmeal to be more a toy than a display item, you could leave out the pipe cleaners and sew on felt eyes, and he would be an appropriate softie for baby.
