Oats the Hoopoe
Oats the Hoopoe - 15 Page PDF
Did you know she got her lovely name because of her cry? (oop-oop) I couldn’t believe it when I first heard her call. She is a very rare sight in our woods, preferring warmer climates. Having blown off course from her yearly flight, she ended up stuck with us until she was well enough to fly again. However she never wants to leave and spends the colder days in the aviary with the other birds.
This PDF includes the written instructions in US terms and step-by-step photos detailing how to make the pieces to finish your creation. When made with DK weight yarn (sample made in Stylecraft Special DK) and a 2.0mm hook, the finished cockatiel will measure around 20cm/8” tall.
The project can be made using any weighted yarn, just adjust the hook size to match your choice.
You’ll need to know how to:
• make a Magic Ring or a chain 2 equivalent
• work in a round
• single crochet
• increase/decrease
• half double crochet
• front/back loop only
• slip stitch
You will need the following materials:
