Just in time to do holiday gift knitting for all of your house elves!

This is a simple, scrunchy, fingerless mitt, inspired by those Hermione wears in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1. You can see the original mitts here and here.

Like Hermione’s mitts, Obliviate results in a loose, bunchy mitt. They are designed more with coziness than functionality in mind, but still have a separate thumb, making it possible to whip out your wand for quick spellwork.

Knit in the round, Obliviate looks great in a self-striping sock yarn, but can also be a fabulous way to use up various fingering weight remnants. If you wish to use less yarn, you can always shorten the cuff and sleeve portion of the pattern for slightly less scrunch.

The pattern includes instructions for simple, ribbed mitts with a slip-stitch fabric or for fancier mitts, using rolled edges, ruffles or picots. I have provided you with a lot of options in this pattern and have included all the information necessary for you to customize, resize and also substitue yarns for this project.
