Oblivion Cowl
About:
This is a simple cowl pattern with a lovely texture. Soft and squishy, a hug around your neck for the colder months. The pattern is both written and charted for working in the round in four sizes. A shorter, snug version, and a longer, looser version. You may like to omit the eyelet section if you prefer, and just work the charted pattern as the body of your cowl. This cowl can be worked in any variation mixing the snug with the long, or vice versa. A wonderfully versatile pattern for you to enjoy.
Sizes:
Short S, Long L. Sizes are designed for a more snug, and a looser fit around the neck.
Recommended yarn: DK / 8ply weight
The sample shown was knitted in Skeinz Albertine Merino. I recommend using a solid colour yarn that has good stitch definition. Avoid yarns that have a halo, or colour variegation as the pattern detailing can get lost.
Gauge:
18 sts x 28 rounds = 10cm on larger needles. Worked in the round in main charted pattern.
Recommended needles: (adjust needles to meet gauge)
4mm/US6 40cm/16” length circular needles for for ribbing
4.5mm/US7 40cm/16” length circular needles for main body
Notions:
One stitch marker for BOR marker
Darning needle
Scissors
Tape measure
Optional: Extra stitch markers to place between pattern repeats.
