Once upon a time, a friend designed the most wonderfully versatile fingerless mitts pattern. This pattern was derived of a combination of her basic design, my utter inability to cease knitting this lace stitch pattern, and a driving need to do something special with a skein of (a now discontinued color) Garnet Bearfoot.

Instructions are provided for inserting the stitch pattern either right side up or upside down, depending on your mood. I highly recommend making a pair of each!! They flow off the needles so quickly, and look stunning in just about any hand dye you can think of!! Some good substitutes for Bearfoot include Misti Alpaca Hand Paint Sock, Zen Yarn Garden Serenity 20, Dream in Color Smooshy, Classic Elite Yarns Alpaca Sox, and Valley Yarns Huntington.
