Obsession Shawl
I fell in love with this lace stitch pattern years ago (hence the name, Obsession) and have used it several times in various projects. This shawl came about because I wanted to see how the lace would behave going in different directions in the same garment. In addition, because I have long been a fan of Sally Melville’s brilliant “Shape It!” scarf, I wanted this shawl to have that same sort of shaping - long, tapered tails on either side of a rounded, longer center. As a result, Obsession Shawl is knit side to side in one piece with lace borders and Garter Stitch in the center. All shaping is done in Garter Stitch.
The use of a light, fingering weight yarn on a larger needle gives the shawl a cozy, scrunchy feeling that’s perfect for wrapping up on a chilly day. I used Mirasol Yarn Sulka Legato and loved the results!!
