Obsidian
OBSIDIAN is a round yoke sweater with a top-down construction, relaxed boxy fit and colourwork on the yoke, body and sleeves. This pattern offers 2 options for the body and sleeve shaping: v1 with the A-line body and slightly exaggerated balloon sleeves and v2 with a straight body and balloon sleeves.
Starting with the yoke cast on, and neckline shaping with short rows, the sweater is worked seamlessly top down. Then the body and sleeves are separated while casting on stitches for the underarms. As the sweater is knitted top-down, you can also decide on the length as you go. The pattern and the yardage have been given for an average height of 165 cm / 5‘5’’ and a slightly cropped length. Please adjust the lengths according to your individual body measurements.
The measurements listed below are for the final sweater after washing and blocking. The pattern comes in 9 sizes (1, 2, 3) (4, 5, 6) (7, 8, 9) with finished sweater bust circumference measuring (83.5, 95.5, 107.5) (117.5, 129, 141) (151, 161, 173) cm / (33.5, 38.25, 43) (47, 51.5, 56.5) (60.5, 64.5, 69.25) inches and is designed to be worn with a positive ease of 15-35 cm / 6-14 inches at the bust.
The wearer of the samples is 162 cm / 5‘4’’ with 90 cm / 36 inches bust. V1 is shown in size 4 with 27 cm / 10.75 inches of positive ease at the bust, V2 - in size 5 with 39 cm / 15.5 inches of positive ease at the bust.
