Height: 12 in 30 cm

YARN

Any DK, light worsted, or sport weight yarn.

Sample uses  Moonglow Yarn Co. Merino DK base, 100% Superwash Merino Wool, 100 g skeins, 231 yards 211 m
Colors: Coral Cove

Yardage listed in total yards per size due to the customizable nature of this pattern.

• 340 (400, 465) yards 311 (366, 425) meters
• Approx. (1) 100g skein main color and (3-6) 20g skeins accent colors OR
• Approx. (5-6) 50g skeins for all colors

NOTE: Tapered version will use slightly less yardage than the standard cowl due to the decreases near the top of the cowl.

NEEDLES

Main Fabric: US 5/3.75 mm or size to obtain gauge
Ribbing: US 4/3.5 mm or one size smaller than gauge
24 or 32 in 60 or 80 cm circular needles, depending on size selected

GAUGE

24 sts and 24 rows per 4 in 10 cm in colorwork

NOTIONS

5 (6, 7) removable stitch markers (one in different color)
Scissors & Tapestry needle

SPECIAL TECHNIQUES

Special techniques include stranded colorwork in the round and twisted ribbing.

This pattern is worked in the round, beginning with a ribbed bottom edge, followed by design-your-own stranded colorwork, and finished with ribbing along the top edge.
