Designer Note: The pattern’s gauge is meant to be slightly looser than normal for the yarn size. This will enhance maximum drape of the fabric. Note that the bottom of the poncho is wider than the top due to the row gauge difference between stockinette stitch and the chevron pattern. This creates a trapezoidal shaped poncho, which has an attractive and figure-flattering shape.
Gauge
19 sts, 25 rows= 4” in st st on US Size 7 (4.5mm) knitting needles after blocking.
23 sts, 23 rows= 4” in Chevron Stitch on US Size 7 (4.5mm) knitting needles after blocking.
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
