This is a gender-neutral cowl that is soft and light as a cloud and warm like a cozy warm blanket due to its two-colored honeycomb brioche stitch. It’s a wonderful project to combine different colors and delight in how they knit up together.

It uses a provisional cast on, then it is knitted in the round up to the desired length and finished with an i-Cord BO. Then provisional cast on stitches on the beginning edge are picked up and another i-Cord BO is worked to make this cowl perfectly symmetrical.

Use the recommended yarn or any substitute yarn, even if thickness is different. Just make sure to swatch to ensure that it fits through your head!

Gauge
In this project, the i-Cord BO’s (see “Abbreviations” and “Techniques” below) gauge is more important than the double honeycomb brioche stitch’s gauge. This is because the former’s fabric is less elastic than the latter’s, making it a more important measurement than that of the body of the cowl.

To swatch, using your favorite Cast On method, CO 33 sts and join to work in the round. Work in double color honeycomb brioche st pattern for 16 rds. You now have 33 sts, every other st accompanied by its yo. On next rd, k single sts, and k knit sts with its accompanying yo when needed. You will finish this rd with 33 k sts on your needles.

Using larger needles, BO all sts using i-Cord BO, as described in Techniques, below.

Measure your swatch around the BO edge, stretching it moderately, before and after washing and blocking.

Stretching it moderately, the 33 sts swatch measures 28 cm or 11 in around the BO edge. Round gauge is less important in this project and therefore not mentioned.

Tools
• Size 4.5 mm / US 7 - 60 cm / 23 in circular needles.
• Size 6 mm / US 10 - 80 cm / 32 in circular needles. This needle will be used for the i-Cord BO. Remember to adjust needle size, if needed, for i-Cord BO to stretch as to match the two-colored honeycomb brioche stitch fabric of the cowl.

One size. You may need to increase or decrease st count if substituting yarn. If doing so, please keep in mind that you will need an odd number of CO sts.

Esta é uma gola unissexo que é suave e leve como uma nuvem, e quente e aconchegante como uma manta, graças ao ponto Favo de Mel, feito aqui com duas cores. É um óptimo projecto para combinar cores diferentes e desfrutar do efeito do ponto à medida que tricotamos.

A gola começa com uma montagem de malhas provisória, é tricotada depois em circular até obtermos o tamanho desejado, e as malhas são rematadas com um i-Cord. Depois, apanhamos as malhas da montagem provisória e rematamo-las também com i-Cord, para que as duas extremidades da gola sejam perfeitamente simétricas.
Use o fio sugerido ou substitua-o, mesmo que a respectiva espessura seja diferente. Mas não prescinda da amostra para ter a certeza de que a gola passa pela cabeça. Bom tricot!

Amostra
Neste projecto, o valor de amostra conseguido no Remate em i-Cord (ver “Abreviaturas” e “Técnicas” abaixo) é mais importante que o valor de amostra obtido no ponto Favo de Mel (PFM) do corpo da gola. Isto deve-se ao facto de o ponto usado no remate ser menos elástico que o usado no corpo da gola, o que faz com que seja a referência mais importante: se o remate não for adequadamente testado, a gola poderá não passar pela cabeça.

Para fazer a amostra, use o seu método favorito para montar 33 ms e junte-as para tricotar em circular. Trabalhe 16 vlts em PFM. Agora tem 33 ms, m sim, m não acompanhada pela respectiva laç. Na próxima vlt, trabalhe em M as ms simples, e trabalhe também em M as mx (ver “Abreviaturas” abaixo). Vai terminar esta vlt com 33 ms nas suas ags.

Com as ags maiores, remate as ms usando o método i-Cord descrito abaixo em “Técnicas”.

Meça a sua amostra na zona do remate das ms, esticando-a moderadamente, antes e depois de lavar e bloquear a amostra.

Esticando moderadamente, a amostra deve medir 28 cm ou 11 in no perímetro da extremidade com o remate i-Cord. O valor de amostra no PFM é menos importante neste projecto, e por isso não é considerado para este efeito.

Tamanho
Um tamanho. Se substituir o fio sugerido, poderá precisar de montar mais ou menos ms. Nesse caso, tenha em conta de que irá precisar de um número ímpar de ms.
