Ocean Waves
“Ocean Waves”
This shawl has been designed for my monthly Outlander inspired release.
The inspiration given this month was time spend in the Caribbean.
I have taken the sea as the inspiration and used shaping to create a wave edge to the shawl/scarf and allowed the stitching of the neck edge to roll in respect of a wave rolling onto the beach.
Ocean waves spiritually symbolize the spirit of perseverance and courage and I feel this fits the Outlander story perfectly.
It has been created in double knit weight yarn and from the shaping it could be worn in a number of ways. The stitches are simple but effective creating something slightly unusual and warm to wear.
I have used contrasting colours but there is no reason why it couldn’t be completed using a single colour
The design is suitable for a knitter who knows the basic stitches, there are no charts to work from and the pattern is written row by row to make it an easy piece to create.
