Oceania Kimono
by Joyce Clark
Easy, slouchy, knit in side-to-side garter stitch rectangles, this is a beginner piece that works almost everywhere. There are two fronts, a back, and two skinny sleeves, making terrific use of distinctive hand-dyed yarns and encouraging the use of that One Fabulous Button (buttonhole not included-- make it work somehow! Crochet a chain!) or Amazing Shawl Pin you’ve been hoarding. Superb for layering and will be a one of a kind piece. Back piece is about 32” wide before addition of sleeves. Gauge is over garter stitch. This soft yarn is normally a sport weight, 6 sts to 1”/2.5cm on a 4mm/US6 needles; here it’s knitted VERY loosely.
