The inspiration for these socks came from literature, in this case a fun series of urban fantasy books by Seanan McGuire. The October Daye series is a group of books that center around modern day San Francisco with adventures throughout the East Bay, South Bay, Silicon Valley and beyond. It’s a treat for a SF local girl like myself to read about fairies and dragons and magic in her own back yard.

When we are introduced to October (Toby) Daye, she is a part-fae knight and private detective. While pursuing a case that takes her into Golden Gate Park, she finds herself transformed into koi fish inside the Japanese Tea Gardens…a transformation that steals 10 years of her life, her family, her livelihood and her honor. In the books that follow, she works at winning back all that is important to her, rediscovering her sense of identity, and healing a land indifferent to her plight.

These socks are designed to be stunning but simple to work and are meant to showcase semi-solids and variegated yarns beautifully. Featured in 5 sizes, (XS, S, M, L, XL) with CO of 56, 64, 72, 80, 88 with length options for the leg and foot, there are almost unlimited sizing options for a comfortable fit.
