This pattern is for an adorable stuffed octopus (or jellyfish. Perfect for infants and small children. Newborns love the feel of the tentacles.
Some people have told me that this fella also remind them of a jellyfish. I think you can call it whatever you like. These octopi are my favorite thing to make. They work up quickly so are great for making a lot for markets, craft fairs, school gifts/toys, etc.

I personally prefer to use 100% cotton for this project. I prefer soft cottons. but any kind will do. Just keep in mind that babies will put it in the mouth, so you might want to stay away from synthetic yarn.

Sizes will vary depending on the yarn used.
I no longer use kitchen cotton as I find it too rough for baby’s sensitive skin and too hard on my hands to work with. I use light weight soft cottons.

For SAFETY reasons, the tentacles should never be longer than 8 inches / 20 cm when stretched
 
You will also need Polyfil stuffing and a needle to sew in the ends.
