This pattern is perfect for beginners. You will need to know the following techniques (US conventions):

o Chain stitch (CH)
o Magic Ring (MR)
o Single Crochet (SC)
o Increasing and decreasing (INC/DEC)
o Crocheting only in the front/outer or the back/inner loops

Learning how to do invisible increases and decreases will significantly improve your results.

Hooks
You will need a 5mm and a 3mm crochet hook for this pattern (this is equivalent to an H/8 and D/3(US) or a 6 and 11 (UK)).

Needed Materials
o Two skeins (50 g) of blue/purple yarn
o Leftovers of pink and black yarn suitable for a 3mm hook (D/3 (US) or 11 (UK))
o A vase with the following dimensions: 11 (diameter) by 10 (height) cm with a neck of about 2 cm high and an opening with a diameter of 5 cm. Most important is the 11 cm diameter. Make sure your vase does not have a bigger diameter. The other dimensions do not have to match exactly.
o Stitch markers (to keep track of where you are in the round)
o Sewing needle
o Scissors
