Of the Clouds
This airy layering piece combines two of my favorite “clouds”: Shibui Silk Cloud and Lotus Tibetan Cloud. The two yarns together knit up into a fabric that is so very soft, warm and lightweight. Front edges and collar are left to drape elegantly, or can be crossed over and fastened with a shawl pin for maximum warmth. Top your best frock on a chilly evening, or throw it on instead of a sweatshirt for effortless weekend style!
You will need:
Lotus Yarns Tibetan Cloud, 2 (2, 3) skeins (yarn A)
And Shibui Silk Cloud, 2 (3, 3) skeins (yarn B)
or two laceweight yarns held together
or fingering-weight yarn used singly (only need half the total yardage)
One set of double-pointed needles (dpn’s), US size 4
One set of dpn’s and one 24”-36” circular needle, US size 9, or size needed to get the correct gauge
Spare circular needle for three-needle bind-off, same size or smaller than working needle
Fairly large stitch holder
The cuffs are knit with two strands of yarn A, and the remainder of the jacket is knit with one strand of each yarn held together.
