Being “off grid” is a goal that many desire these days. If it is not possible for you, sock knitting is a great way to “switch off” from the fast-paced world. So, put that phone down, make a cuppa tea, find a comfortable spot and escape to a world of soft, squishy sock.

Level Easy (with some knowledge of sock knitting)

Size Medium 68st. If larger size is required, 2.5mm or 2.75mm needles can be used. Larger needles may result in a reduced density to the sock and may not wear as well.

Needles US 1 / 2.25mm circular needle 32” / 80 cm for magic loop method or size needed to obtain correct gauge.
You can also use 9” circular or DPN’s but stitch markers will be needed to indicate start of needle 1 and needle 2. Smaller needle size can be used for cuff if extra firmness of cuff is needed

Gauge 11-12st/3cm stocking stitch blocked

Yarn 100g of fingering weight yarn (4ply), preferably a nylon blend for increased durability. The sample socks used 55gm (approx. 215 metres) of one colour. Any alteration to size, gauge or yarn type may result in different requirements.

Yarn Sample used Chardyglen Designs Super Soft Merino 75% Nylon 25% blend in Mardi Gras. 100gms/400m
