MOSAIC OVERLAY TECHNIQUE. This fun pattern has a slightly off center optical illusion effect. It is a simple pattern, good for beginners with no fancy stitches (just DC and SC). Helpful hints are included in the directions.

It could be made with any weight yarn, and made any size, as long as the width is multiples of 36.

My sample (pictures in pattern) was made with 5 mm hook and 4/worsted weight Red Heart Teal Ombre yarn and black solid.

I tested this one personally but it was a while ago and I honestly don’t remember how much yarn I used (hence the lack of yardage in the directions). I was using the Jumbo skeins of Ombre, and I seem to recall I used less than two?
