This sock pattern is the first in a line of socks I call #summersockjourney If you love going “Off road” walking down a winding path among wild flowers, hiking though your favourite forest, or hopping on your dirt bike and going “off roading” this sock designed in Patons Kroy will take you there with it’s cozy, plump texture that softens more and more with wear and use. The asymmetrical ribbing detail at the top of the cuff slants to one side merging into stockinette stitch, each sock mirror images the other and still can be worn on either foot.

Construction

The socks are knit topdown with an asymmetrical ribbed pattern that merges into stockinette stitch making it mostly a vanilla style sock, making it a quick knit. The sock has a heel flap with a slightly different stitch then the usual slipped stitch pattern and it keeps it interesting and easy to pick up the gusset stitches. The foot is knit in stockinette stitch and the toe is a wedge toe with a kitchener stitch to close the toe.

While this pattern was designed in Patons Kroy, it truly can be knit in literally any fingering weight yarn and a contrast heel and toes do not have to be done… it would be beautiful in a tonal or speckled! or even a fade!

Yardage
I filled in the yardage amount above but keep in mind you may use less or more depending on the length of your foot and if you choose to do a longer or shorter cuff.

I encourage you to make a pattern page so I can see all of your Beautiful socks because that is the most exciting part of being a designer, seeing all the yarn choices and colour combos.
