Off the cuff
The pinstripe effect of this classy bag is easily achieved by knitting the bah from side to side instead of the base upwards. The flared shape is worked by casting on stitches and then binding them off on the opposite side seam.
A clear plastic handle is attached with ribbon, which is also used for the buton fastening. The flat base is strengthened with a removable insert of thick card.
Pattern also provides for a removal rose corsage (oddments of dk yarn).
Also need:
400m of metallic 4ply yarn
1 pair of clear plastic bag handles (15cm wide at base)
Lining fabric 63.5cm x 38cm
Ribbon 7mm wide, 43cm long
3 buttons
thick card for base
