Off The Grid is a cardigan that is worked from the bottom up. The body is worked backwards and forwards to the underarm, then the front and back are worked separately to the shoulders and bound off. The shoulder seams are then sewn together and stitches are picked up around the armhole for the sleeves. Short rows are used to shape the sleeve cap and the sleeves are worked in the round.
The trim is a tweed pattern using slipped sts. The body commences with and the sleeves finish with tweed pattern. The collar and side trims are also worked in the tweed pattern after picking up stitches along those edges. The body is a simple slip stitch pattern that shows the beauty of a variegated yarn.
The body is designed to be shaped but this is optional. There are instructions for both options.
There are options for straight and tapered sleeves. The photo with the rust coloured trim is straight and the photo with the black coloured trim is tapered.
The body and sleeves can be any length and the instructions show where the length can be added.
