This loop is definitely “offen” (open), combining an array of lace and mesh patterns for striking effect. It is not complicated to work at all, and the variety of stitch patterns make it a wonderful second lace project, or a first for brave novice lace knitters. The loop is worked flat and the cast-on and bind-off edges are sewn together to close the circle, which means gauge matters. However, it’s easy to add repeats as needed to achieve the desired circumference with a lighter yarn.

As with all loops, you cannot really go wrong with styling Offen. It will always look perfect.

Offen macht seinem Namen alle Ehre: eine Kombination aus Lace- und Netzmustern gibt dem Loop ein fast filigranes Aussehen, trotz des dickeren Garns. Er strickt sich relativ unkompliziert und eignet sich für alle, die schon mindestens einmal Lacemuster gestrickt haben und die ihr Lochmusterrepertoire etwas ausweiten möchten. Gestrickt wird flach in Reihen und am Ende wird die Arbeit durch das Abketten mit drei Nadeln zum Loop verbunden. Daher ist die Maschenprobe zu beachten. Allerdings kann, wer mit dünnerer Wolle arbeiten mag, mit etwas Planung entsprechend Maschen und Mustersätze hinzufügen.

Das Styling ist – wie bei allen Loops – absolut unkompliziert, Offen sitzt immer.
