Offshoot
A free version is also available.
Offshoot is available in two forms: there’s a free version, and a pay .PDF with two variations, more photos, and a schematic. The .PDF is priced at $4.80, so this is sort of a tip jar pattern (after payment system fees, I get about $4), with a little bit of a bonus for people who want to support the future production of mouse army knitting patterns—purchase it if you’d like. Or enjoy the free version!
Offshoot is a variation on the Garter Scrap Shawl—a scarf or shawl knit up in long, narrow triangle shape, using up all the little scraps from other projects. This one takes a lot of yarn.
Materials:
Approximately 670+ yards of miscellaneous scrap yarns, in any weight
1 16” circular needle in US7-8/4.5-5.0mm, or size needed for gauge, or size needed for yarn weight chosen
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Gauge is truly variable! The gauge of the worsted-weight scarf shown is 15 sts and 28 rows in 4”/10cm of garter stitch. Knit Offshoot in any yarn weight, at any gauge you like; customize the size by evaluating it as you go.
