This is a pattern for cable lace turtleneck scarf. The turtleneck section guarantees that you’ll stay warm in the winter, while allowing the stitch work to be highly visible. The focal stitch comes to us from Japan, and features a unique cable lace stitch, and an unique cable border stitches. If you haven’t tried one of these Japanese type stitches, you’ll enjoy both making and wearing this scarf, as the combination of these stitches is truly special.

Skill level: Intermediate (assuming good basic knitting skills and ability to work well with cables.)

The border and focal stitches are both charted and written out line by line. There are also instructions for an optional crocheted edging, should you want to edge it.

The sample was expertly pattern tested by Aaron Atwood, who can be reached at: eochdubh.pooka@gmail.com

The yarn used in the sample is Shepherd Sport by Lorna’s Laces, in colorway, Pewter.
