This is a pattern I developed for teaching a class on how to knit socks. There isn’t a better, way that I know of, to learn the basics of knitting a sock then by making a set of adorable baby socks. It requires less yarn and less time, yet the basics are the same for all size socks. Plus, they make a great baby shower gift.

This is a basic top down pattern with a worked heel flap, a turned heel, and a Kitchener Stitch toe.

There are modifications for working the cuff in a K1 - P1 ribbing, a K2 - P2 ribbing, for extending the ribbing to make a fold over cuff, and a modification for working the K2 - P2 ribbing on the top portion of the sock as well.

There is also a special techniques page with instructions of how to work the Kitchener Stitch.
