Oh Chimney!
Oh Chimney! What can I say.. A cute, kawaii design that I had so much fun with. My kids can’t get enough of this one, I hope you enjoy it too!
Oh Chimney! is an intermediate amigurumi (crochet) pattern written in US (American) terms. The pattern includes detailed instructions in an easy to follow layout but a knowledge of basic crochet stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi is essential.
Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished items. Oh Chimney is approximately 12cm tall (4 ¾ inches).
You will receive one PDF file which requires software like Adobe Reader to open (this is free to download).
You will need:
- 2.5mm hook/C-2 (US)
- 8ply yarns/DK or Light Worsted > 50g yarn in BRICK, CAMEL, BLACK, WHITE, RED, CHARCOAL and GREY
- BLACK 4ply yarn or embroidery thread
- Scissors
- A pair of 7mm plastic safety eyes
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
- Polyester toy stuffing
- Stitch marker (optional)
Notes:
- Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round and a yarn with no stretch is best, I prefer cotton.
- When changing colour, yarn over the new colour and pull through on the stitch prior.
- Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
- Your tension, the yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of the finished item.
- For this pattern, I used: o BRICK = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in col. 415 Pillar Red o CAMEL = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in col. 409 Light Caramel o BLACK = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in col. 402 Pure Black o WHITE = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in col. 401 Paper White o RED = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in col. 414 Rose Red o CHARCOAL = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in col. 406 Slate Grey o GREY = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in col. 405 Stormy Grey
- I have used plastic safety eyes for this pattern but you may choose to embroider. Please ensure that there are no loose fittings.
