Oh Hollyhocks! bunting
Inspired by the Hollyhocks amongst the cottage garden flowers at the front of the windmill in the village where I live, this bunting brings an extra touch of summer to your garden or home. The green spikes of buds against a sky blue background are complemented by the distinctive colourful flowers. The triangles are adorned with tassels to finish them off perfectly.
This is an ideal project for warmer days when it is too hot to crochet larger items, and the finished bunting can be used year after year.
The pattern has detailed instructions, photographs and video links so it is suitable for advanced beginners. There is also a chart for the triangles if written instructions aren’t your thing! This download gives you access to both UK and US versions of the pattern.
I used a premium acrylic DK yarn, but they look lovely in cotton yarn too. The pattern contains details of the yarn I used, but it is also a great stashbuster-the triangles look lovely in different colours, and the flowers are a great way to use up scraps. Some of my testers used different colours for each round of the flowers which was very effective. You can make as many pieces as you like too, though the yarn amounts given are for making 8 triangles.
