Oh So Plaid Bag
Designed for the 2024 Puget Sound LYS Tour for Needles & Hooks
Worked from the bottom up, in the round
Plaid section is worked in waistcoat stitch, carrying yarn at the
back throughout, working 2 colors per row
Base of bag is worked with yarn held double
Stitches used:
- slip stitch
- single crochet
- half double crochet
- waistcoat stitch, or crochet knit stitch
Yarn Requirements:
Pattern was written for worsted weight 100% cotton. We used a combination of Cascade Nifty Cotton Solids & Effects
Color (A) - Light 40 grams (75 yards)
Color (B) - Medium 70 grams (130 yards)
Color (C) - Dark 150 grams (280 yards)
If adding a fourth color just for the handles & base, you will need 2 skeins of that color, and just 1 skein color (C) for the plaid
Crochet Hooks:
US H (5mm) and I (5.5mm)
Size:
Finished bag measures approximately 12”w x 10.5”t as written
-Bag can be made taller by adding vertical repeats of the plaid chart.
-Bag can be made wider by adding multiples of 18 to the beginning chain for additional horizontal repeats of plaid chart.
