The scarf is heavily textured. Each row is different, so there is never a dull moment. The pattern consists of 10 sections (A-J) shown in 9 main charts. All main charts consist of the half of two sections with a diagonal line between the sections. There are 70 rows to each chart. (I have not written out instructions row-by-row, as there would be 630 different rows. The chance of tiny errors would be very high, and the tech control would be a nightmare).
There are additional hints and notes under the different sections where some of the stitch types show up for the first time. There are also photographs to show how to do one of the techniques as it is difficult to explain in words - but it is very easy to knit.
This project can be knit in any yarn, at any gauge, and with any needle size. Changes in yarn and needle size will affect the size of the scarf. If obtaining the same gauge as above, the scarf will measure approximately 14 × 181 cm.
It is possible to sew the ends of the scarf together to make a cowl.
You can knit a shorter scarf if you prefer, or if you run out of yarn. Just stop after any main chart and jump to the finishing section. You can knit a longer scarf by starting to repeat some of the sections, but then you will have to put two different sections together yourself. There is an empty main chart at the end of the pattern where you can fill in new sections yourself.
While knitting, the scarf looks really wonky. This is because the different sections have different widths. This will be fixed by blocking the scarf when it is finished.
