This pattern is named for the area I live in. The Okanagan Valley, which is a major fruit and wine industry area. Which means the ground is fertile and there are many orchards and vineyards here. The Okanagan orchard pattern is inspired by the planting and growth of the fruit trees that grow so abundantly here. Each lace section grows as the trees would through the growing season. From planting, the first purl bump and lace section, to harvest, the final lace section surrounded by the leaves that offer the orchard shade. This cowl is light and breezy and offers a bit of elegance whether dining beside the lake, strolling the Saturday market or touring a winery, this shawl offers a simple beauty that is enjoyable to knit.

This pattern is a one size pattern and is meant to be worn with the long side over one shoulder.
