The Olas shawl is an easy yet very interesting half-pi shawl pattern, worked flat from the top down. The combination of garter and mesh stitch, combined with playful short rows makes this shawl a great project to work on after a long day. Originally designed using three contrast colors, the pattern is highly adaptable to many more, making it a perfect candidate for some stash diving or to use up the bits of some left-over yarn.

180 x 90 cm/72 x 36 inches (wingspan x depth)

YARDAGE
Approximately 920 m/1010 yd of heavy fingering weight yarn.

NEEDLES
4 mm/US 6, or size needed to obtain gauge.

Circular needles with 80 cm/32 inches cable length or longer are recommended to accommodate all stitches comfortably.

GAUGE
20 stitches x 36 rows in 10 cm/4 inches after blocking in garter stitch.

Even though gauge is not crucial to this project, changes in it will affect your yardage requirements and your final dimensions.

ACERCA DEL PATRÓN
El chal Olas es un patrón de chal semicircular medio-pi, fácil de tejer y muy interesante, trabajado en plano de arriba hacia abajo. La combinación de punto bobo y punto calado, combinada con divertidas vueltas cortas, hace de este chal un gran proyecto para trabajar después de un largo día. Originalmente diseñado con tres colores de contraste, el patrón es altamente adaptable a muchos más, lo que lo convierte en un candidato perfecto para tejer con diferentes hilados de nuestra colección de lanas o usar restos de hilado.
