This adorable knitted Old English Sheepdog is made by knitting loop stitches. If you are new to the technique, here is a tutorial on How to Knit Loops. Note that owing to the nature of the looped knit, for safety reasons this toy is not suitable for babies or younger children.

This pattern has been designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz using acrylic DK yarns, and is knitted flat on single pointed needles.

RECOMMENDED YARN
Deramores Studio Baby Soft DK in Snow and Pebble; one 100g skein in each colour
Double knitting/light worsted weight
100% acrylic

NEEDLES
A pair of 3mm straight single pointed knitting needles

NOTIONS
Toy filling
A darning or tapestry needle for seaming
Two 9mm toy safety eyes
An 18mm toy dog nose
White felt fabric to back the washers of the eyes/nose

SIZES
One Size: The sheepdog sits at 24cm tall.

TECHNIQUES
Work flat on single pointed needles (not in the round).
Other techniques include casting on and off, knits and purls, knitting loops, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
