Whether you choose to knit it short and fitted or long and slouchy, this cabled hat is sure to become an old friend that’s always by your side.

The hat is knit in the round from the bottom up. Thanks to the combination of ribbing and cables, Old Friend is wonderfully stretchy and sized to fit babies, kids, teens, and adults.

The pattern includes instructions to make a fitted hat for those who want a bit of warmth, and a slouchy version with extra ribbing for those that what more options. The slouchy version is also a great choice for babies and kids because it leaves plenty of room to grow. Of course, you can always mix and match to make the perfect hat for you.

Both written and charted instructions are included along with trackers to mark repeats, tips for using stitch markers, close-up photos, and tutorial links.
